# <a name="Hybrid Fire Control"></a> Hybrid Fire Control

The static test fire will be controlled by an inexpensive off the shelf PIC based [ controller board ](http://www.flex-tek.com/FTman10.pdf) made by Flextek. <br />A PC, connected to this _controller board_ via RS-232 running _control software_, sends commands to the _controller board_. This activates digital outs in the _controller board_ that are connected to smart switches on an [interface board](/HybridFireControl/flextek_hybrd_interface_v2.png) which in turn lights the igniter and activates the oxygen and nitrogen soleniods in the sequence defined in the _control software_.

The Flextek board will also be responsible for data acquisition. This will include (initially) load cell and pressure transducer data.
