## <a name="Launches"></a> Launches

### <a name="Current lists"></a> Current lists

- [[CurrentBringList]]: The current "what to bring and who brings it" list (currently for August 2005 launch)
- [[CurrentCheckList]]: The current launch checklist for our upcoming launch (currently for August 2005 launch)
- [[LogisticsContacts]]: A list of helpful and/or necessary people to talk to when setting up the launch.
- [[HamOperators]]: People with a ham radio license and their call signs.

### <a name="Improvements"></a> Improvements

- reduce and centralize materials needed for launch
  - consider moving even more toward using totes
    - totes belong to a particular site/function; try not to have totes with some items for the tower, some for launch control
    - each tote is labeled and has a list of its contents
    - each item for that tote is labeled with the same designation, so packing up after the launch is less error-prone
    - track which totes go in which vehicles, to make sure they all get packed
  - reduce bulk of BBQ antenna bases by adding hinges or moving to a lightweight base that can be weighed down with sandbags/sand-filled buckets
  - packing tube for chicken wire
- streamline launch setup
  - split out checklist and identify opportunities for parallelization, as well as points where the team needs to checkpoint and regroup
  - use integration tests to build a timetable with the expected duration of each portion of the checklist
- improve data gathering/recovery
  - black box for flash card in rocket
  - armored boxes for cameras at launch tower?
- personnel
  - if at an OROC event, make sure we know who's in charge and stay in contact with them
  - designated drivers? for trips to tower, to ATV setup, to bathrooms if necessary (preferably all-terrain vehicles)
  - net coordinator, so we comply with ham rules
  - if possible, identify medically trained individuals
- miscellaneous
  - generate signs to get the site, and put someone in charge of collecting them after the launch
  - need a medical kit, perhaps one mobile and one base camp
  - do prep work to use recovery team sightings
